Life in School

Emily has attended 2 days of Jr. High. She absolutely loves it!! She loves that she moves around instead of sitting all day in one classroom. She loves getting 7 different teachers. And she loves that she can socialize with her friends in between classes. The clothes are actually a bit easier than I anticipated. Everyone pretty much wears jeans and Aeropostal t-shirts. No fruffy outfits that cost a fortune to buy each necessary item to pull it together. Now I just have to pay a fortune for 1 item. :) I forgot that name brand jeans mattered. I bought her a few cute pairs at Justice and thought we were good. Now I am being told by other Jr. High moms that I need to buy her True Religion and Seven jeans. I should have known, I have seen the trend go through Jordache, Gerbeau, etc. growing up. I guess I am safe until she starts asking!

Madison is loving Kindergarten. She loves her teacher and is making lots of friends. When I asked her what she did on the second day of kindergarten she told me, "pretty much the same as the first day." Come on girl, I want details!! How I love her in uniforms. It doesn't matter what she wears, she always looks adorable.

First Day of School....kinda of.

Today was the first day of school for 2 out of my 4 kids. Logan and Jake started, but Maddie has to wait until Monday to start Kindergarten so they can finish their testing. "So, I'm not in kindergarten yet!" she said with some panic in her voice. Cute little thing can't wait to go to Quest Academy like her big brothers! I am so excited for her, but part of me is lamenting the fact that my baby is starting school. I feel soooo old!

Speaking of old, my oldest didn't start school today because she graduated from Quest Academy Charter school and is now back in the public school system attending Jr. High!!!! She is so excited for this new experience. I am a little anxious for her having so many teachers. She had a hard enough time keeping on top of what was due with just one teacher.

Monday I will be doing the happy dance as all my kids will be gone to school (but only for a moment, before I race down the stairs to begin pulling everything together before preschool starts after Labor Day).
